Last December 2015, Typhoon Nona (Typhoon Melor – international name) struck our country and devastates Oriental Mindoro. Properties, both agriculture and infrastructure, were badly damaged and up to now most of the towns there do not have electricity.
Our relatives there were generally good… a few house repairs is all they need plus a handy generator to go on with their daily lives comfortably. But, not everyone in Oriental Mindoro is as lucky as they are.
We learned from a fellow homeschooler that their place was badly damaged and since most of the family in their neighborhood depends in their daily harvest for food… it will take some time for them to have a substantial food for their family. The community helps each other as much as they can but they need help from others as well.

Since one of the purposes of this blog is to bless more people, we see this as a great opportunity to carry out that purpose. Working with fellow homeschoolers in our community here in Metro East (Cainta, Antipolo, Taytay…) we’ll be sending some LOVE to them this month through the kindness of Ms. Patti. You may send your donations (in kind please) directly to Ms. Patti or you may drop it at YTC ANTIPOLO (G/F EMAX Bldg. Circumferential Road, Brgy. San Roque, Antipolo City) until February 20, 2016. The community is primarily in need of MILK and FOOD SUPPLIES plus TOILETRIES (soap and toothpaste).
The complement of our choice to own less and to reduce our wants is the choice to give more and to increase our capacity to help.
Thank you in advance for your help and prayers for the community of Barrio Silangan, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.
